Javert

JAVERT is the inspector who serves as the antagonist to Jean Valjean. At first glance, Javert might appear to be the villain of the story, but on closer examination, it is clear that he is not an evil man, but is a man with a profound sense of duty. He sees everything in black and white and is unswerving in his pursuit of justice. His attitudes are rigid and unmoveable. He is stern, foreboding, and lacking in compassion. His suicide is one of the most tragic events of the piece.

JAVERT est l'inspecteur qui sert d'antagoniste à Jean Valjean. À première vue, Javert peut sembler être le méchant de l'histoire, mais à y regarder de plus près, il est clair qu'il n'est pas un homme mauvais, mais un homme avec un sens profond du devoir. Il voit tout en noir et blanc et est inébranlable dans sa quête de justice. Ses attitudes sont rigides et immuables. Il est sévère, inquiétant et manque de compassion. Son suicide est l'un des événements les plus tragiques de la pièce.

We'll firstly give you a folder with all the useful elements for your audition (lyrics of the imposed songs and audition's backing tracks)

Then, you'll be added to a group in which we'll communicate all the practical information concerning your audition (time and place).

Tu seras ensuite ajouté.e à un groupe dans lequel nous communiquerons toutes les informations pratiques concernant les auditions (la date et l'endroit).

SECOND STEP:

prepare your audition!

Here is what we'll ask you to do/ Voici ce que nous te demanderons de faire:

1) Sing one song of the character you are interested in from the list given to you. Learn it and try to interpret it as your character would./ Chanter une des chansons du personnage qui t'intéresse de ta liste fournie. Apprends-la et essaye de l'interpréter comme ton personnage le ferait.

For Javert, we ask you to choose between Stars and Javert's Soliloquy/Javert's Suicide./ Pour Javert, nous te demandons de choisir entre Stars et Javert's Soliloquy/Javert's Suicide.

2) If you have a song you really want to show us, you can prepare one! We'll let you sing 30 secs/1 minute of your song./ Si tu as une chanson que tu veux vraiment nous montrer, tu peux en préparer une ! Nous te laisserons chanter 30 secondes/ 1 minute de ta chanson.

3) We'll also have an "interview" to see your experience and, before anything else, your motivation/ Nous aurons aussi un "entretien" pour voir ton expérience et, avant toute chose, ta motivation.
